Finding Noto

Noto Peninsula is located in the Hokuriku area of Japan. This area is part of the Chu bu Region in central Japan, between the Kansai and Kanto Regions. The Chu bu Region is well known for the cities of Nagoya, Toyota, Shizuoka, Gifu, Kanazawa, Toyama, Nagano, and Niigata. The Hokuriku region is located in the North western part of the Chu bu region and enocmpases Fukui, Ishikawa, and Toyama Prefectures.

This is Ishikawa Prefecture in the Hokuriku region. The area in the South of the prefecture is called the Kaga area. Kaga consists of Kaga, Komatsu city and towns and villages in the southern half of the prefecture. Kanazawa is the most famous city in Ishikawa Prefecture, located in the central part of the prefecture. The Noto area is located in the entire northern half of the Prefecture.

The Northern half of Ishikawa Prefecture is the Noto Peninsula. The southern Half of Noto Peninsula is the most populated area in this part of Ishikawa Prefecture. Nanao is the largest city in Noto Peninsula it is located along Toyama bay and its in the central Eastern part of Noto Peninsula. Nanao is famous for Wakura Onsen and Noto Jima. Other towns and cities in the southern region of Noto are Kahoku City, Hakui City, Shika Town, and Naka Noto Town. The Northern part and Eastern part of Noto Peninsula is called Okunoto and its full of lush forests, rolling hills and valleys, sea side and hillside side villages, bamboo forests, farmland, and coast line where you can see beautiful views of the white snow caped peaks of Japan’s Northern Alps.

Okunoto is made up of Noto cho and Anamizu machi, Suzu City, and Wajima City.
